Silver Spring Foods, a subsidiary of Huntsinger Farms, Inc. – the world’s largest grower and processor of horseradish – has been proudly family-owned and rooted in Eau Claire, Wisconsin since 1929. Horseradish is grown on 5,000 acres of prime farmland using a five- to seven-year crop rotation to support soil health and flavor integrity. Roots are harvested in spring and fall, then immediately cold-stored to preserve freshness before processing and bottling. This “cold-ground, cold-packed” method helps maintain peak flavor and heat.
In 2018, Silver Spring introduced the Zing Masters™, a sensory panel that uses scientific methods to evaluate taste, shelf life, and overall consumer experience. By mimicking real-world use, the Zing Masters™ ensure every bite delivers optimal horseradish zing from start to finish. With nearly a century of expertise, Silver Spring continues to honor the bold root that started it all – offering horseradish, mustards, and sauces for retail, foodservice, private label, and industrial customers.
